I honestly believe it’s several things...
First, Northern Utah County is growing very fast.

Second, there are a lot of ex college and pro athletes that move to the area.

Third, the average salary in the area is higher than most of SLC. Yes, there are areas in SLC that are similar (i.e. Olympus) but parents in this area can afford to put their kids in camps and get privacy lessons. I bet 50% of Stroformance’s kids are from the area.

Fourth, there appears to be a large subset of parents that expect their kids to be high achievers. This can cause issues with coaches getting run out from time to time, but it hasn’t caused any issues long term. For instance, LP has had 5 baseball coaches in 9 years and have been in the state championship game 3 of the last 4.

On another note, Region 4 is so tough. Of the championships this year, almost all have been won by region 4 teams I’ll need some help for swimming and boys track.

Volleyball: LP
Girls Soccer: LP
Girls Tennis: LP
Football: LP
Boys Golf: LP
Boys X Country: AF
Girls X Country: AF
Wrestling: PG
Basketball: AF
Girls Swimming: AF
Boys Swimming: LP
Girls Track: LP
Baseball: PG

Others:
Boys Soccer: Weber
Boys Track: Syracuse
Softball: ?

I’m sure I’m missing some but those are off the top of my head.

I also didn’t include club sports.
