Although to be fair most of the east side SLC schools are in 5A while the northern Utah county schools are mostly 6A so they aren’t directly competing with each other except for a few of them. But the west side slc schools are all 6A and should be better than they are. I would attribute that to mainly socioeconomic situations. Northern Utah county is a wealthy area while western salt lake county is not with the exception of south Jordan, Riverton, and Herriman which coincidently are the ones that are competitive with the northern Utah county schools.
I think the money does have a pretty profound affect on competitiveness. I think there’s talent in all of those places so the main difference I see is the money.
