Could it be because when using an article such as “a” or “the” you are grouping
The person into a group rather than describing the individual? It seems the basis of any prejudice is judging someone based on a group’s characteristics (whether valid or not) rather than focusing on the individual.

I find it interesting how when we group people and forget about the individual it becomes so much easier to say or think hurtful things when if we had a 1 on 1 interaction with the person we appreciate the individual for who they are. It’s all about focusing on the one.
