1. Schedule 3 games with P12 schools each year with 1 of them in mid-October or later in the season.
2. Schedule 3 games with MWC schools each year with at least 2 of them in mid-October or later in the season.
3. Schedule 3 other games with P6 conference teams
4. Schedule season-opener against team that is a guaranteed win--Idaho, Weber St, Montana, etc.
5. If you are able to get a season-opening with a marquee team and lots of media coverage, make the guaranteed-win game (see #4) the 2nd game of the season.
6. Fill out schedule with games with two good G5 schools.
7. Work to improve bowl game possibilities. If BYU could have some guaranteed slots based on their performance that would be ideal. Bowls in San Diego, Vegas, and Arizona should be preferred if something could be worked out. In these locations, BYU would bring many fans, and it would be a money-maker for the bowl organizers.
8. Continue ESPN agreement.
Frankly, based on BYU's current schedules, they're not far from most of the above. Some improvements in the bowl situation would be a big deal. As part of what's listed above, I'd love to see BYU play Utah every year, preferably in late November. But if not in November, I'm OK with playing them as the season-opener. I'd also like to see Boise St on the schedule every year. And as part of the 3 MWC teams, I'd like to see Hawaii at least every other year.
