Agreed. Electronics are not the same as physical books as far as study goes.
But when I'm in a Church setting and need to follow along or look something up quickly, electronic devices can do it faster and with much less bulk than physical books can. Besides, the handbooks are now updated immediately, while paper handbooks are out of date. Plus, conference talks,magazines and videos are all at your fingertips. I use electronics at Church, but personal scripture study is easier for me with paper books. I use both types.
