Latin America, Japan and China are almost 100% subtitling, in my experience. The
only places I really see any correlation, even on this map, are Scandinavia and the Benelux countries, where they speak globally insignificant Germanic languages that have significant commonality with English.
The UK and Ireland don’t count, for obvious reasons.
