There have been 4 coaches in the last 40 years.
- Lavell — a legend (retired after having some middling teams in the late 90s). Lavell had 6 and 7 win seasons as well.
- Crowton — a great recruiter / struggled with team discipline (let go after 3 losing seasons in a row and a lot of off-field issues).
- Bronco — exciting MWC football - both D and O (learned from Crowton's stuggled, redirected the program). Good in independence (struggled against in-state rivals — struggle some with recruiting and PR - left on his own). Bronco was assigned Anae as his OC. Anae did a wonderful job (although many still complain about some play-calling). Bronco definitely did his homework and made himself a very good HC. Bronco had a 6 and 7 win season.
- Sitake — One good, one awful and one OK seasons. First time HC with a very green staff (at least at their positions). 2017 is all on him and the staff (not a disciplined team/staff).
Instead of focusing on 'how low', grow up. I'm exciting about the players that are coming into the program. I like much of what I saw last year (mistakes at BSU and NIU cost BYU a 9 win season — and don't get me started on the uu game). I think BYU will be a better team this year. Focus on the positive (if you can).
