At least that's what I have heard here in Southern California. You may want to ask around. My wife has a few friends who have relatively new LGs and they can't get independent repairmen to service them (I don't know the facts).

The ones I've decided are at the top of my list are GE / Whirlpool (and I think Kenmore). I think those are basically the same company. We just bought a GE counter-depth French doors (with pull out freezer on bottom) from Costco and so far, so good.
