but after reading this post I have to say I think this idea is brilliant!

Even the P5 conferences have weak teams (hello Kansas, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Oregon State, etc). The problem is the current G5 programs have far more weak teams that water down a SOS. And then there are a greater number of G5 teams that seem to have great years only to decline over time.

CaliWG’s solution solves that problem by ensuring the best teams play each other ensuring a more consistent level of competition that in some ways could be better overall than even some P5’s.

The reality is at first you don’t have to convince the worst teams to join. If you can get the best G5’s like UFC, Houston, Boise State, BYU, etc the weaker teams won’t have another viable option if they want to stay competitive.
