to much higher levels than normal.
Let's rehash.
The AAC signed its original TV deal with ESPN (sub-licensing games to CBSSN) in 2013. It was for all sports. 7 years. $126 Million. That's $18 Million per year. With 12 teams, that $1.5 Million per year. FOR ALL SPORTS.
Now let's look at BYU.
BYU signed its independent FOOTBALL television deal in 2010. Three years earlier.
Under its contract, BYU earned about $1.5 Million for just the 2014 Virginia and 2017 Wisconsin games each.
Think about that.
ONE FOOTBALL GAME under a contract signed in 2010 paid BYU the same amount as ALL SPORTS BROADCASTS paid an AAC program under a contract signed in 2013.
Anyone who doesn't see the AAC as a HUGE step down--in money, schedule, and prestige--needs to pick a different sport to talk about. They're college football idiots.
