I'm not sure about the validity of your rival litmus test, but for the life of

me I can't see a single advantage to BYU joining the AAC, let alone any other G5. Until there is a path to a P5 invite (which rightfully should have come with Utah's PAC invite), Independence seems the only logical way to go for virtually every reason.
