even though I grew up in the Bay Area. Like I noted above about my brother who is a Red Sox fan I have been a Dodgers fan since I was a kid. The reason is that my uncle, who is not that much older than I am so he is more like an older brother than an uncle, was drafted by the Dodgers and played in their system all the way up to triple A so I've been a Dodgers fan ever since he was drafted by them despite never living in SoCal in my life.

Another note but my uncle was part of a fantastic group of baseball players from Las Vegas in the late 70's. They played together and a bunch of them made it to the Majors and almost all of them played professionally. There was my uncle as well as Marty Barrett who I talked about in my first post, Marty was actually ALCS MVP for the red Soxs in '86. Also Mike Maddux who is Greg Maddux's older brother and he played in the MLB for quite a long time. Also Mike Morgan who spent something like 20 years in the Majors. Some of them, like my uncle, Marty Barrett, and Mike Morgan all played at the same HS but all of them played American Legion together and of the 11 guys on that Legion team every single one of them played pro baseball. It was a legendary group. I used to love watching them as a kid.
