Except, as a fan free agent, there needs to be a compelling draw to a team. You can find the occasionally plucky team,
but there is no joy in supporting a team that consistently underperforms or does nothing to attract the casual or new fan. The fans who suffer do so because of the community aspect. They are born into it or have some other reason that compels people to keep cheering on the perennial losers. Unfortunately, you only need to look so far as BYU to see the reality of this. If you have no draw or tie to a league, pick the team that will bring you the most joy.
