My parents were pretty well off when we got married and we definitely reaped some pretty awesome benefits. They lost everything a few years later and we've more than paid them back for those first few years. Having lived both ways I would choose the first in a heartbeat. I have no problem helping them out now, but I would much rather be the beneficiary of their generosity.
