How about 2-loss P5s though? I think BYU would get in over any 2-loss P5.
Their SOS is strong enough this year that the committee couldn't realistically put a 2-loss team in ahead of an undefeated BYU. I do tend to agree that 1-loss P5 conference champs would be ranked ahead of an undefeated BYU so the real question is how many of those will there be? Looking at the last few years odds are that we'd probably end up ranked #5 when all is said and done w/ an undefeated season, but there is an outside shot we could slip in at #4.
The real question for me is if we somehow finish 11-1 would that be good enough to make it to the Cotton Bowl? With there only being 1 at-large spot this year it makes it a little bit tougher. We probably need to finish ranked #8 or #9 to have a chance at that bid this year.
