But they weren't even in the same key. I would have agreed with you if Katy Parry has "stolen a riff" but she
didn't. The progression was similar....true, but it was in a different key. They were completely different notes. And we are talking 4 measures under the microscope out of an entire song. That's ridiculous. If anything, one could claim "inspired by" but I don't see how it qualifies as plagiarized. I wonder if she could appeal?

He didn't suffer any harm, but she made a ton of money using his IP. He should be compensated for that.
