son's decision to play on the JV, and I don't have all of the information, but did he consider the value of practicing against varsity players, playing against varsity players (even if limited), and the value of have a high school resume with 3 years of varsity on the Buchanon team? That seems to be a lot of value and development to pass up in order to play against JV players? I agree that camps are key, but getting advanced notoriety prior to camp will be helped by being able to say I played varsity as as sophomore at with a 5* senior, rather than I stayed on JV to get lots of playing time against JV kids - not being critical, but passing along my instincts (based upon some anecdotal experience).
