This has been a noticable shift/trend over the last few years. Bezos (who signed this letter) has shown with his actions
that he'll willing to pay people more than required (by the laws of the land and by the laws of economics). Their minimum wage at Amazon is $15/hr (more than twice the federal min wage). Certainly he could find enough talent to work in his warehouses for less than $15/hr???

This is just one example. Many companies have similar policies. JP Chase pays a minimum of $16.50 now. (and they pay more than that in large cities).

The trend of companies paying more for labor is just starting and I think this letter helps other CEO's raise wages in their companies without fear of losing their jobs. I think this move will help with our income inequality issues. I hope CEOs take real action moving forward.
