In his elementary school he was never bullied or picked on. Was actually voted to leadership council and very popular.
His last school was a charter school so virtually all the students were pretty well rounded and respectful. We've been preparing him all summer for junior high as we knew it would be drastically different and that there would be bullies and mean kids to deal with, something his previous school didn't have. Given the sheer number of kids in a public junior high, it's simply a certainty.
