I saw your story. You're saying that 67% of Utah fans are amoral, drunk, in broken marriages, inconsiderate, poor, and bad parents. Would you say this in elder's quorum with Utes in the room?
Do you guys ever wonder why so many find a portion of your fan-base (and to some extent, a portion of the members of your religion) so insufferable? Who wants to associate with people that are judgemental, stuck-up, and embellish their anectdotal stories so they can think they are better than others in some way? Not me for one.
I had two friends back in Salt Lake that had left the LDS church but are still BYU fans. It's in their blood. Guess what, they drink alcohol, swear, watch Game of Thrones, and they are awesome people, good parents, and some of my best friends. They'd never say stuff like this stereotyping the Utah fan base because they live among us and they know us.
If you want to keep isolating yourselves inside this echo-chamber bubble of "we're better than you at life" instead of reaching out to others, then have at it. But, the size of the group inside that bubble is just going to keep getting smaller if you don't try to reach out to others that aren't perfect like you are. That doesn't mean trying to change them, it means accepting them.
