This is what I don't like about it.
1. In the past, kickers have many times tried for the coffin corner. I think stats show it's very hard to run one back from there. The problem is that if the kicker is off a bit the ball goes out of bounds. Our opponent then gets the ball on the 35. IMO, this happens too much.
2. If Utah or anyone else runs one back it's going to make us feel pretty silly. Case in point BYU/Utah 2017. Matt Gay for the Utes had kicked almost every kickoff out of the endzone. They got cute once and kicked a high returnable kick. BYU almost returned it for a TD. Another half step and our returner (Hifo?) would have taken it the distance.
