On one hand we are making way more money than we ever have before, but it opened up so many more challenges.

Not only did going independence hurt BYU, but I think an even greater challenge was Utah going to the P12. Byu recognized the recruiting and financial advantages Utah would have and made a knee jerk reaction to stay relevant.

Psychologically, we have not recovered since and Utah's program continues to grow in strength.

Chellenges with BYU:
1- Front loaded schedule
2- Nothing to play for in November
3- Sitake was not ready to be a head coach at first. He is learning, still not sure he is the right guy for the job.
4- Talent and recruiting - the honor code is a HUGE challenge. BYU can't get the Carrington's, and can't keep the Bernard's. This is a huge advantage in Utah's favor. The difference a few guys can make is tremendous. Just look at the Raptors and the difference one guy, Kawhi Leonard, made. #NBAChampions.
