it was a poor decision that miraculously turned out OK for him

with the blown coverage on Simon. BYU had no business being able to get into FG range on that last drive, with no timeouts.

That 2nd to last drive needed to be a 4-down drive, meaning, they call plays knowing they are going to go for it on 4th down if it comes to that. Their play calling didn't reflect that, and they really go bailed out with play calling by TN on the subsequent drive.
