Why would your friend quit the profession entirely over high malpractice
Rates? If that is such a concern, why not take a job with a healthcare system, You are paid a really nice salary plus your malpractice insurance is paid by the organization.

I’m confused why there would be a need to quit the professional altogether.

Say what you want about malpractice insurance, but most doctors who have done nothing wrong, Typically end up with their case dismissed or no liability apportioned to them.

Also, what about the patients that are harmed when doctors do make a mistake? Should they not be compensated for their injuries? Of course they should.
