trip I have ever taken, I did not think the cruise ship was all that great. The food on my wife and mine's honey moon cruise was much better (Carnival). 

I loved everything else about the trip! It was incredible, the views are to die for and the wild life was so cool to see. I am not sure where you are stopping but some fun excursions we did were the following:

Whale sight seeing: If I had to pick one to not go on it would be this. I really like it but I had been on whale boats before, plus you can see some whales from the cruise ship for free.

Zipline: We did the worlds longest zip line and it was awesome. I underestimated how cool it would be and really liked it.

Bear sighting: This was by far my favorite. My sister called the port and found the number of a bear watching group. These guys looked like they had been living with bears. They took us to a river and it was the coolest thing to see the bears chase the salmon. I highly recommend.

Ice caves: We did an excursion where we rowed across a lake to a glacier and got to walk through it and climb on top of it. It was really cool to go inside the glacier and we even drank the water.

Every stop should have incredible hikes not far from the port. You can pretty much pick the difficulty level and distance and should be able to find something.

My wife and I hiked everywhere. There is obviously a high risk of bears but the closest we cam was a lady telling us we had walked by one without even seeing it. (I really wish I had).

Anyways, you cannot go wrong with an Alaskan cruise, it was incredible.
