program. BYU's recruiting has never been P5 level, but it was upper G5 and better than the bottem 5 P5 teams before INDY. After becoming INDY BYU's recruiting has dropped from 45-60 to 55-90, big difference. The reason BSU can get 40-50 ranked recruiting classes is they win 10 games a year. So, I do think recruiting can get better if BYU plays a realistic schedule. BYU gets beat up by better, bigger, and faster teams losing a lot of starters. Then they play G5 teams with 2stars and walk-ons replacements. Future recruits interested in BYU are watching BYU get their butt kicked and go to Utah, Utah St, etc...
BYU's move to INDY was complete arrogance, because UTAH become P5 and BYU didn't. Bottom line Chris Hill found a way and TH/BOT at BYU couldn't.
BYU INDY accomplishments:
0 Big wins
0 NY6 Bowls
0 Conference Championships
0 Top 20 rankings
0 wins against top 20 teams at the end of the year
0 wins against 10 win teams
3 wins against winning P5 teams in 8 years
BYU's best option is AAC with a couple of P5 games a year. Recuiting would get better, not P5 better, but better.
There is also BB to think about. The WCC is a joke not worth watching. INDY has also hurt the BB team.
Simple example, I'd rather be BSU, UCF, Memphis, Houston, Cincy, SMU... than INDY BYU playing exhibition games.
INDY Sucks!!!
