Anderson or Bevell don't excite me at all. IMO if they were head coaching material I feel like they would have been given a shot by someone obviously smarter than me. How many times have we seen in the pros or college that an OC or DC is given a head coaching job and fails? That's obviously not the case every time because most HCs were an OC or DC at some point. The thing that concerns me about these older coordinators is the fact that they haven't been given a chance sooner. That seems like a red flag to me. I had the same concerns with Grimes. When they hired grimes I kept thinking "If he really is that good, why in the world was he not already an OC". I think we need someone with head coaching experience at either the Junior or FCS level.
