Agreed — but even when BYU has had success with great players and coaches,
a tough schedule is typically just too much to sustain that success. I’m thinking of 1991 as a prime example.
And granted — the team still finished ranked, but it was largely thanks to loading up on wins mid-season against the WAC opponents.

I'm not saying coaching isn't a factor but our schedule is just too ambitious for our talent level and especially depth
