Is that Boise State could be undefeated and still not go to the NY6, becuase another unbeated G5 could be ranked higher (case it point being the an undefeated Boise state the last two years would be passed in favor of UCF). And even though that is unlikely it is still possible. However I agree with you that being in the MWC or AAC gives a team a better chance of an NY6 becuase of the combination of an easier schedule with an auto bid for highest G5.

I still like BYU as an independent though and we "technically" have higher access to the playoff. ESPN had an undefeated BYU going to the playoff even though they wouldn't say the same about UCF. Now whether or not that is ever a possibility is debatable.

Also UCF lost in their last NY6 bowl and only won by a TD in the first, so they didn't clobber their opponents
