Phil's would be average in TX. Have you given Missouri BBQ a fair shake, btw?
I've only been to Dallas/Ft Worth, Austin and the cities in between, and I've tried to hit the best BBQ spots. It's been amazing. Maybe it's just my personal preference for the sauces and popular local cuts, but I'd rather eat BBQ in the best places in Kansas City and St. Louis.
Maybe you can point me to places that will change my mind in TX.
