Baylor Romney was a difference maker in how he played the QB position. He put...
...our receivers in position to make plays. He didn't hold onto the ball forever waiting for someone to eventually get open or try to rifle the ball into tight windows. He went through his reads quickly and just took whatever the defense gave him or made throws with touch and generally put the ball where his WR's could make a play on it but away from the DB.

I can't remember the last time we had a QB pick up a blitz at the LOS and immediately check down to the RB to avoid getting hit. Lopini took that quick toss and gained 7 yds. 9 times out of 10 that ends up a sack of our QB because he is determined to stretch the play out and make a big play. Baylor Romney just took what the defense gave him and made the easy play. It seemed like he didn't miss seeing open receivers downfield as much as our other QB's who like to run a lot. Romney wasn't looking to run for big yards and instead kept his eyes downfield looking for a an open window.

Also, play calling was significantly better. No more stupid jet sweeps on 3rd and 1 in the red zone, etc (don't recall a single jet sweep called for that matter). We ran between the tackles and had our OL go toe-to-toe. We ran North/South. When coaches wanted to stretch the field wide they threw what looked like a bubble screen to the sideline. Gunner Romney caught one and we had blocking set up in front of him so he could make a nice little gain. Coaches called a much better game on offense. We also didn't fool around with backup punters.
