The "P5 designation" thing is a joke
Conference designate the schools they want that fit their needs. That is why some conferences allow military academies like Navy. I don't see BYU's fake "P5 designation" changing if they joined the AAC (just like Navy).

Look at all of our games that are broadcast nationally. Compare that to schools in conf where those schools are limited
