they need to run such a soft defense to succeed this year. It’s really strange. If Tuiaki called the USF game without approval from Kalani, I honestly would have considered letting him go after that game if I was Kalani.

Obviously Kalani is on board with the plan. They clearly think we can’t play another style and have success. I would love to know why they believe that. If I was their boss and I wasn’t satisfied with the answer regarding the scheme, I’d have to consider making a big change whether it be Sitake or Tuiaki. And I do think we will see some changes with the staff at the end of this year.

There’s nothing wrong with a 3 man front. The problem is running the same stuff basically every play. Twice against Liberty on 3rd and 1 and we didn’t stack the box. They easily converted. Against South Florida, we didn’t stack the box until after they took the lead and we needed a 3 and out to get the ball back despite the fact they ran the ball 15-20 times in a row. It’s gone way past confusing and has entered insanity.

So yes, I’d have to consider some changes and I’d have to hear from Kalani and from Tuiaki to hear what the heck it is they are thinking. Then I could decide if I give them more time, get rid of Tuiaki, or get rid of them both.
