So I'm OK cutting myself lose from someone who I'm not really interested in being with. In fact - it would be unfair and inconsiderate of me to continue with a relationship that I have no interest in just because I want to be with someone...anyone.

But football teams aren't me. While I will survive without a girlfriend - football teams actually DO need a head coach all of the time. So if you're going to cut one lose - you probably ought to be considering who will be next.
