Since UMass is an Indy and this past off-season they had a new partner for their online streaming for games out of market. Demanding that their new partner sell the rights they purchased to BYU for just a single game is a little heavy-handed. Their product is all about streaming content and they purchased all UMass games. It would hurt their brand/and cause complaints for their subscribers if they charged out-of-market UMass fans $150/year for all the games and then later sell the rights to BYU so now only show 5 instead of 6 games. They may have been expecting a bump in subscriptions from BYU fans all along to help them cover their costs. Anyhow, its not like they aren't planning to broadcast--so the game is available, just at a fee.

In any case, I'd be a little surprised to see UMass end up on the future schedules.
