Each MWC school under its current contract gets only $1.1MM per year and it sounds like they could be in for either a significant haircut or push to streaming-only to increase the pot. While we don't know for sure the dollar amount of BYU's contract with ESPN, it's well north of that figure. BYU's probably going to get somewhere in the neighborhood of $10MM per year from ESPN in the next round. I'm not sure how you could justify going to the MWC. You could make a case for going to the AAC, but the MWC makes no financial sense.
