That was the year of the 52-52 tie with SDSU. Marshall Faulk was a freshman for the Aztecs that year and was setting all kinds of NCAA freshman records. He ran all over us in that game. They also had Lowery as the QB. He never made it to the NFL (that I'm aware of), but he was a very, very, good college QB. He torched us with several deep balls that game.

We had lots of talent on that team as well (Detmer, J.Willis, Rex, etc.). That game is still one of the old games that I can remember pretty vividly. The Aztecs were a good team with lots of talented players on offense. It's still a game we should have won. We missed an extra point on one of our early TDs that would have been the difference in the game.
