too often, I agree. Especially with the low scoring nature of the game. But penalty kicks themselves, providing they are awarded justifiably for obvious goal denial, and provided they aren't used for stupid end of game tie breakers, is no more ridiculous than free throws in basketball. And, in my opinion, are less irritating than those constant breaks for free throws in basketball.

My solution for penalty kicks is that most of them should be replaced with direct free kicks either at the spot of the foul or DFK at the top of the arc. PK's should be awarded only in the most serious obvious goal denial situations. That would greatly correct the current disproportionality problem.

I have solutions to all of my perceived flaws in the Game. FIFA just won't listen to me, except with the implementation of VAR!
