But the main difference between me and you is perspective.
You see these flaws as an outsider to the Game and largely reject the game.
I see these flaws, which I think are fundamental and significant, as an insider but just grudgingly sublimate them to the beauty in the Game that perceive.
I think soccer has historically been slowed or hindered with respect to healthy evolution of the Game itself, and I hypothesize that may be due to the fact that soccer gained a global footprint very early in its history. So it became so large across disparate cultures that governance of the Game became hyper-resistant to change. It was never like the NFL or NBA which essentially is a small top-down governance of their perspective sports. Easier politically and logistically to make changes. But I do think soccer needs and is due an era of American influence.
