Although I am greatly satisfied by tonight’s outcome, it does not change the fact that the college football playoff system is the stupidest system in a wide world of professional and “amateur” sports. What an awful system. People who claim the system works are high on cheaply cooked cartel-produced narcotics.
Oregon is getting hosed for doing what the CFP should be encouraging—playing challenging non conference opponents. Had they not lost to Auburn, the would be identically situated to Utah and should be in the playoff discussion.
The perception was that Utah would roll Oregon. The perception was wildly wrong. Yet perception is the governing criteria in selecting the final four and eliminates the majority of participants just by virtue of the conferences they are excluded from.
It is hard to believe that such a backwards system is still present in America.
