I think it depends on what you want to do career-wise.
If you are set on going to law school or med school, or certain types of business careers (e.g., accounting, some types of consulting or working at large corps), then BYU probably isn't a big disadvantage to Stanford or UVA or wherever else. If you want to be in private equity, venture capital, Wall Street jobs, or things like that, Stanford or UVA or other places give you a much better chance.
