interesting way for him to describe BYU since going Indy. Unless he's talking about prior, but that was ages ago. An extremely long time in CFB. BYU was more successful prior when things in the landscape were drastically different and yes, they still got to live on some good recruiting from prior.
But we're not playing those schedules, and everyone around the nation is starting to put their money where their mouth is in effort. Whether or not it is successful for all of them, they're trying. We can't really say that about BYU. Instead they're scheduling harder and providing a comparative equivalent of about half of the resources necessary to support it.
But in Indy, a bunch of 8 win seasons against easier schedules, and now we've got 9, 7, and hopefully 8 in 3 out of 4 years. So we can't pretend there's this giant difference. If he's talking about our run in the late 2000's, asking why we could win 10 games back then but not now just isn't a really relevant question.
