AP rankings mean absolutely nothing when it comes to selection. A few years ago Utah State was ranked #22 and didn't receive an invite. Committee doesn't even look at these.
They have no Q1 wins and 1 Q3 loss which is stuff that actually matters to the committee. They'll have plenty of chances to improve the resume, and if they truly are the 18th best team, their resume will improve as they have the opportunity to win more quality games.
