At BYU, not consistently since at least 2009. In the NFL, I see it a lot.
Like I said Taysom got away with it twice because safeties correctly fear his legs and let guys get enough separation that they can stop, even fall down coming back.

But can you name an NFL starter who consistently gets away with throwing vertical routes where the receiver has to stop? And no, not back-shoulder passes. I read incorrect use of that justification for Mangum (whom I love) way too many times on CB.

He might be able to throw better than we’ve seen on deep passes. Small sample size. But we haven’t seen the good stuff there yet.
