We moved because my company moved to a new location in Lehi, and the drive from Springville was a little longer than we preferred (and we were ready for a larger home anyway).
Couple of my opinions thus far:
Pro's for Springville:
- Hobble Creek Canyon. If you enjoy hiking, riding or being in the mountaints, Hobble Creek is amazing. It is far less trafficked that AF canyon and has a lot to offer. I really miss Hobble Creek.
- Close to shopping in Provo and Spanish Fork shopping has grown a ton lately.
- Smaller town feel than some other places, without being too far.
- While you are close to shopping and things in nearby cities, the city itself doest have much in terms of shopping or restaurant. Example: No movie theater. That said, both Spanish Fork and Provo have one. But you get the idea.
Pro's to Saratoga:
- There are a TON of kids. If you have young ones, this counts as a Pro in my mind.
- All the things you said about the Temple and costco above...
- I live on the south end of Saratoga with a view across the lake. My wife and I have come to really appreciate the view. The view looking over the lake towards Lehi -> Provo is much better than the other direction IMO.
I just threw out Springville as a comparison because that is my most recent experience. But having lived in SLC and Provo also, I would say I would prefer to Live in Saratoga over SLC or Provo.
