looking at the shots inside the 3pt line and outside the key... "where did those shots go 18 years later?"

The graphic suggests they moved out beyond the 3 or inside the key, and that's probably the case, but it's also possible they just migrated elsewhere inside the 3pt line and outside the key. Less density in a single hexagon, but more density in 2 adjacent hexagons can make it disappear from the "top 200" locations.

It's entirely possible that there are just as many shots outside the key/inside the 3.
