Seoul - I only did a year (without family)
So much culture and things to do there. Great location to start from so you can visit anywhere in Asia in a few hours (quick weekend trip). Kids will have a great experience. You can find any kind of food (one of my past times while there).
Can be pretty gray and ugly in the winter. North Korea is "nearby". I've seen some families struggle with the distance from the US.
