we've won a national championship, have a large national following and sell out

games even when we are having a mediocre season, if being a big time program with $$$ were the deciding factors we would have been in a P5 a long time ago. Unfortunately, the reasons that have kept BYU out of being in a P5 have nothing to do with football 🙁
