we tell the builder.

We'll tell them we need to be in the house in 6 months when it's actually a year.

We'll tell them our budget is 10-15% lower than it actually is.

I'll even attempt to build in some kind of clause to the contract that states they have to pay me X dollars for every day they're past the deadline.

Yeah...so in other words...I'm probably never building again...
