Lombardi Walk-on
Consistency/mental toughness/discipline/accountability
Everyone is aware, including the head coach, that BYU football has lacked consistency over the last few years. Kalani says he needs to “figure that out and fix it.” Consistency is a product of mental toughness, discipline, and accountability. Those attributes must come from the head coach, down through the assistant coaches and to the players. If Kalani doesn’t hold his assistant coaches accountable, how can he expect to hold the players accountable for lack of discipline and Inconsistency...

Let’s be honest for a minute… Kalani says he evaluates his assistants based on two things: Who do they recruit and how do they develop their recruits. Tuiaki is not getting it done. Another DL recruit chose Utah. DL should be a relative strength for BYU, not a weakness. We know Tuiaki is not a game day tactician and X’s and O’s is not his strength, but we had hoped that he could recruit. I think it’s fair to ask an honest question: other than being Kalani’s buddy, what is he bringing to the Byu table to help the team and the program? Football is a tough business. You perform or you get cut loose. The coaches want the players to have that tough mentality. No excuses. Get it done. How can Kalani expect his players to be consistent and accountable if he doesn’t demand the same from his assistants? Where is the accountability for Tuiaki ? Honest question.
